Influent enters the Regainer by being either being pumped in or gravity fed into a weir tank located inside the screen drum. The weir tank reduces turbulence and introduces the influent onto the rotating drum face through a 90 degree arc as it overflows its front edge. Special weir tanks are available for influents with higher solids content and industrial applications.
Screened influent passes through the Vee-Wire slots into a discharge tank where it can be further processed. Solids that are captured inside the screen drum are moved towards the discharge end by divertor plates.
The section of the screen drum under the weir tank acts as a draining zone, while the discharge end section acts as the dewatering zone. Solids in the dewatering zone agglomerate and are continuously rolled with the rotation of the screen drum, resulting in further reduction of liquid content.
The Vee-Wire drum is easily cleaned using water at moderate pressure, injected by internal and external spray nozzles across the complete length of the drum screen. Hot water can be used for increased washing performance on applications with high grease and oil content.
The screen drum is attached to a robust segmented sprocket and driven by a heavy-duty chain. The drum rotates on four specially designed trunnions mounted on a base frame.The Regainer is offered in 304 or 316 stainless steel construction, other alloys available on request. The unit can be fully enclosed for safety and to contain aerosols, noise and odor. Inspection and access hatches are provided to aid maintenance.The equipment is designed to provide easy maintenance access, with swinging lateral protection covers and a bolted top cover.Custom models are available for sugar mills and other industrial applications.
