With slots sized assmall as 0.001 in, and up to 0.001 inincrements, the traps are designed tocapture media particles of any size. Evenwith very narrow slots, the screen hassufficient open area to let process flowmove virtually unimpeded.Other design accomodations can bemade for specific site conditions such aspiping, valve sizes, and configurations.

The screens are typically made with type316L stainless steel but other metals canbe used depending on the particularchemistry or temperature of the processflow. The screens are also designed withsight glasses for monitoring andremovable elements for easier cleaning.Screens for Johnson resin traps are madeby wrapping Vee-Wire® spirally around anarray of rods and welding it at eachintersection of wire and rod. The result isa very strong screen structure with closetolerance,continuous slots.
